چکیده

This paper presents a software environment that uses our comprehensive modeling and design methodology for representing complex missions and synthesizing the concomitant adaptive organizational structures for different sets of design objectives. The tool box provides a step-bystep visualization of modeling a complex mission and building an "optimal" organization that achieves superior performance, while satisfying organizational constraints. In addition, the software environment allows one to perform a comparative analysis of different organizations for various (user-defined) performance measures, and to quantify the robustness of a given organizational design. The methodology incorporates algorithms for optimizing resource allocation, mission schedule, and information management, for balancing decision-making workload, and for maximizing controllability of the mission processing by the resulting organizational hierarchy. The software environment is illustrated via an example. The methodology and tools presented allow for automation of the modeling and design process. Herein, they constitute valuable instruments for scientific research in the area of organizational decision-making and human team behavior.

Modeling Adaptive Multi-Agent Organizations for Naval Missions

The naval domain is characterized by a dynamic environment. This requires constant adaptation of the organization, choosing between a wide variety of options. The consequences of the different options are difficult to foresee and hence, it is hard to judge which is best. This paper presents automated support for simulation, visualization, and validation of such adaptive multi-agent organisation...

Software Solutions for Distributed Autonomous Multi-Functional Robotics in Space

1. Abstract Robotics systems in space must deal with a host of software challenges in addition to and amplified by the challenges of a hostile space environment and the remoteness in which they operate. Software automation has been used to good effect in managing some of these challenges to control single robotic systems, even multi-functional systems, in previous unmanned missions without the ...

Multi Attribute Investment Planning of a Grid-Connected Diesel/Wind/PV/Battery Hybrid Energy System

Recently, along with the depletion of fossil fuels and growing electrical requirements, more attention has been paid on utilizing Renewable Energy Sources (RESs). The Chichest tourism complex is located 20 km far from Orumieh, Iran which has been supplied through the main distribution grid connection. But, recently the trend is to expand the share of RESs in supplying microgrids demand. Hence, ...

Fuzzy Adaptive Control of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle for Carrying Time-Varying Cargo on Predefined Path

At present, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has been increased dramatically. The reasons for this development are cheapness, smallness, simplicity, and diversity of missions. The simplicity of guidance and control of multi-rotor drones is that they are equipped with an autopilot system. This system is responsible for flying control. UAVs do not have a high weight and often have three...
